This is the Special Illustration Rare (SIR) version of Bouffalant ex from Scarlet & Violet—White Flare, the 2025 Unova-tribute set that marks a historic first for Pokémon TCG collectors. White Flare is one half of the landmark Black Bolt / White Flare split expansion — the first dual-set release in the history of the English Pokémon TCG — built around all 156 Unova Pokémon from the Black & White video game era, each guaranteed an Illustration Rare or Special Illustration Rare card.
At card number 170/086, this Bouffalant ex sits firmly in the secret rare tier, printed well beyond the 86-card base set. The full-art holofoil treatment delivers a cinematic scene pulled out of Unova, and with SIRs landing roughly once every 76 packs, this is a genuine short print.
