The Pokémon TCG: First Partner Illustration Collection—Series 1 is the 30th anniversary product every serious Pokémon collector needs on their shelf. The headline chase is a nine-card set of exclusive Illustration Rare promo cards featuring the Kanto, Sinnoh, and Alola starters — and these promos are only available in this product, with no path to them through booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, or any other sealed product.

Each collection includes 1 special promo booster pack containing 3 of the 9 Illustration Rare promos (randomly distributed from the Kanto, Sinnoh, or Alola trio), 1 Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames booster pack, 1 Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution booster pack, and a first partner Pokémon sticker sheet — all at a $14.99 MSRP.

The nine Series 1 promos span three full starter trios — Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle (MEP 037–039), Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup (MEP 040–042), and Rowlet, Litten, Popplio (MEP 043–045). Each trio forms a connected panoramic scene that only reveals its complete artwork when the three cards are displayed side by side. Kanto cards feature Gym Badges and the classic Pokédex; Sinnoh cards spotlight the Pokétch; and the Alola trio is surrounded by Z-Crystals evoking the island challenge trials.
